Ben Johnson
Unpopular opinion, but sadly he's not good enough.

Yes, he had a few good games earlier in the season but overall he's not good enough.

Too many times he shows his man on the inside, his distribution is absolutely shocking and when he has the ball at his feet, he just looks scared.

Re: Ben Johnson
I said on the other thread that he is clearly a player who may well benefit from a loan move for a year at a Championship Club and then see where he is improvement wise. Problem is if he wasn't here we would probably have three goalkeepers on the bench!

Re: Ben Johnson
He’s a right back been asked to play left wing back.

He’s not going to start ahead of VC, but he’s grand to have as back up.

Re: Ben Johnson
I'm fully expecting people to suggest he isn't a left back, when he was put on the right in front of Coufal (odd decision) he was literally shitting himself and needed constant chatter with Moyes and he had no idea what he was doing. I'm sorry, any professional footballer (outfield) should be able to adapt.

Lee Trundle 12:12 Mon Mar 15
Re: Ben Johnson
Considering you thought he was a left back by trade, I'm going to suggest you don't know enough about him to give a proper opinion.

Yesterday he didn't play well, but I'm not going to give up on him when he's been dicked about massively, positional wise.

See my post below, Trundle.

Re: Ben Johnson
My point still stands. You don't know enough about him if you thought he was a left back by trade (which you did).

From a completely human behavioural stand point, I find these kind of posts/posters fascinating

Re: Ben Johnson
Pretty much every game he's played for us, he's been left back.

Are you trying to suggest a professional footballer cannot adapt from playing right back to left back, Trundle?

Re: Ben Johnson
He's had some good and some shocking games which comes as no surprise as he hasn't played much football at the top level. Obviously not gonna be a world beater but has decent potential. I wouldn't give up on him just yet

Re: Ben Johnson
When a young player appears on the scene and isn't at the required level at that point (as Johnson clearly isn't) the question then is can he improve and be the real deal?

It is possible that he starts improving (if he gets the chances) but I can't see it with fella, seen it many times before. He doesn't seem to have the personality, hunger and believe for it.

He 'might' be good enough to have a good career in the championship.

PS: We had exactly the same thread a few weeks back and the OP got slated for it. Just saying.

I've seen enough to think that he may have a decent future with us.... I'd 100% keep

Re: Ben Johnson
No, I'm trying to suggest you don't know enough about him if you thought he was a left back by trade (it's the third time I've said it so hopefully the penny will drop soon).

Re: Ben Johnson
Trundle, after watching him plenty this season, I know plenty son.

He isn't good enough, In my opinion.

Re: Ben Johnson
We have a forward who has cost the club £25 million and has contributed ZERO GOALS all seasom and you decided to start a thread digging out a youth product being asked to play out of position?

I suggest to re-evaluate your priorities Block son.

Block 12:28 Mon Mar 15
Re: Ben Johnson
Irons, agreed that Benrahma should be scoring more. However he has contributed with assists and his overall play has been good.

Re: Ben Johnson
You just know the type of people that start threads like this will from now on get satisfaction when the subject of their uninformed opinion has a bad game as it makes them feel some kind of validation they’re almost certainly lacking in other areas of their life.

pathetic thread this. you must be desperate for attention

Re: Ben Johnson
Wrong, as usual Lyon.

I HOPE I'm wrong, as I always want our youth players to come through and succeed.

Upon reflection of his performances, I cannot see him being good enough for us, as we look to press on in becoming an top 6 club.
